My first contribution to a published textbook is here!

My undergraduate professor from San Diego State University, Dr. Melinda Hohman, asked me to provide a piece for the second edition of her book, Motivational Interviewing in Social Work Practice. This is such an honor for me because, as a student in her class, I learned from the first edition of this book.

For the book, I provided my perspective as a Black social worker utilizing motivational interviewing (MI) in the child welfare system.

I will provide training from this book in my MI sessions. I hope you enjoy the current, relevant, and needed material this text can bring to your work in the community and classroom.
